Symptoms of kidney disease to look out for:-
* Changes in urine
The first symptom may be a noticeable change in the amount of urine.
This amount can increase or decrease. It can increase or decrease the number of times we urinate during the day and the inability to urinate.
* Feeling pain while urinating
This pain may be a burning sensation. This can be a sign of a urinary tract infection and if not treated, the infection can go to the kidneys and cause a kidney infection.
* Hematuria (presence of blood in the urine)
This is a symptom that deserves attention and it is appropriate to seek medical attention immediately to find out the cause and get treatment.
* Swelling in some parts of the body
Kidney removes unnecessary waste and water in our body, and when it is not able to do this properly, swelling can occur in the hands, feet and face.
* Feeling tired
If the kidney, which produces a type of hormone called ‘erythropoietin’, is damaged, it reduces the production of this hormone that produces oxygen-carrying red blood cells, causing our bodies to not get enough oxygen and to feel tired.
* Feeling dizzy
When kidney disease-related anemia occurs, the amount of oxygen reaching the brain is also reduced.
* Feeling cold
People with kidney disease may often feel cold. But people with kidney infection will have high fever and chills.
* Skin changes (rash) and itching
When the kidneys stop working due to illness, wastes that need to be removed by the blood accumulate, which causes rashes and itching on the skin.
* Bad breath
Kidney disease increases the amount of urea in the blood, which turns into ammonia and causes bad breath.
* Nausea and vomiting
* Shortness of breath
Kidney disease can cause water to accumulate in the lungs and cause anemia, reducing the amount of oxygen available to the body.
* Feeling a sense of pain
The pain that we feel associated with kidney disease rises from the waist to the back and occasionally causes a severe pain.
When we see these symptoms of kidney disease, it is advisable to go to the medical center as soon as possible for diagnosis and treatment.
