Do you know what not to do before falling asleep?
✔ Exercise
Exercising is the foundation of a healthy life and the best solution for your good and peaceful sleep. But if you work within 3 hours of going to bed, your body temperature will rise and it will take time to cool down, so you will have trouble falling asleep. Therefore, it is recommended that you exercise in the morning.
✔ Using television or internet
Studies have shown that the screen light from these materials prevents the body from producing the hormone (melatonin) that helps us sleep, so don’t forget to turn off your television/computer an hour before you go to sleep.
✔ Taking shower with hot water
Like exercise, taking a hot shower can help you sleep better, but it can cause sleep problems when you take it too close to bedtime. If your body temperature rises too much, you may have trouble sleeping. Give your body time to cool down.
✔ Drink plenty of fluids
Taking caffeinated and alcoholic drinks can prevent us from getting a peaceful sleep, and in addition, drinking any kind of liquid one or two hours before is not recommended because it will make you get up more than once to urinate. Drink water earlier, so you can have a good night’s sleep.
✔ Doing work
Try to complete your work on time as much as possible because working late/evening can stimulate your brain and lead to unwanted stress.
✔ Reading thrilling novels
Most of the time, reading interesting and thrilling novels can prevent us from falling asleep or make us stay up much later than usual.
✔ Eating more than enough and taking salty foods
It is recommended to eat moderate amount of dinner because eating more than full will make you anxious and you won’t fall asleep quickly.
✔ Conflict with your life partner/family
If you want to sleep, you must free your mind. Studies show that we have a hard time falling asleep immediately after a traumatic event. Therefore, if there is a problem to be solved, it is important to talk about it in time and solve the problem for a peaceful sleep.
